About Ibovespa
The Ibovespa is the main performance gauge for stocks traded on B3, Brazil's stock exchange. It tracks the market's most actively traded companies in a theoretical portfolio that is reviewed every four months.
The index is measured in points. When it rises, its stocks have gained value on a weighted-average basis; when it falls, they have lost value. It is the go-to barometer of the Brazilian market and a benchmark for equity funds.
